Meet Your Doula
Hi, I’m Kaytlyn!
I’m a mother of two boys, a wife, birth doula, and the founder of Bramble Birth Co.
My passion for birth began through my own journey into motherhood and grew into a calling to support other families as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I believe every family deserves compassionate, evidence-based support, access to quality information, and the confidence to make decisions that feel right for them.
I have a deep appreciation for the physiology of birth and the incredible design of the birthing body. I love helping families understand how labor works, what to expect, explore their options, and build confidence in their ability to navigate one of life’s most transformative experiences.
At the same time, I believe every birth journey deserves respect. Whether your path includes comfort measures, epidural, induction, VBAC, cesarean birth, or something entirely unexpected, your birth is no less meaningful, powerful, or worthy of celebration.
My role is never to make decisions for you, but to provide information, encouragement, practical support, and a steady presence as you make the decisions that feel right for your family.
I completed DONA approved birth doula training in April 2026 and am actively working toward certification while continuing education in childbirth, lactation support, and evidence based maternity care. I am committed to lifelong learning and staying current with the latest research and best practices so I can provide families with thoughtful, informed support.
Outside of birth work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, tending the garden and chickens, reading a fantasy/romantasy novel when I find the time, or chasing my two wild little boys around the backyard.
It would be an honor to support you as you welcome your baby and begin this next chapter of your life.
A Name With Roots
The Full Story
I wanted to pick a name that felt meaningful, rooted, and deeply personal.
Growing up, my grandfather—my Pepa—had an old Johnny Horton cassette tape. On long road trips traveling to the mountains of West Virginia, he would play “The Battle of New Orleans” and whistle along to it. I would always ask him to play the “bramble song” because there is a line that goes
“They ran through the briars, and they ran through the brambles, and they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn’t go”.
As a child, and as I got older, I always loved the word bramble. It always felt so wild and old and beautiful.
Every Summer, I spent countless days and my grandparents’ ranch picking wild blackberries. To get to them, we had to weave through the actual brambles—carefully dodging thorns, reaching into tangled vines, and coming away with stained fingers and bags of wild blackberries. Those are some of the most cherished memories of my childhood.
As I began building this business, I found myself coming back to that word again and again.
While “briar” and “bramble” are used interchangeably, brambles are fruit-bearing plants that protect and nurture what is growing within them.
Pregnancy and birth are much the same.
They are wild, instinctive, transformative journeys. They can be challenging, unpredictable, and intense. Yet they are also deeply purposeful. They require strength, patience, trust, and support. And in the end, they bring forth something extraordinary.
To me, Bramble Birth Co. represents honring both the journey and the growth that comes from it. The courage it takes to move through birth, and the new life waiting on the other side.
Just as the bramble shelters the fruit it bears, I hope to provide steady, compassionate support for families as they navigate one of life’s most transformative experiences.
Wild Growth. Steady Support. 🌿
